IC Information
Character Name: Falco Lombardi
Name that appears on plaque: Falco Lombardi
Character Journal: [personal profile] spacepheasant
Canon: Starfox Assault
Point in Canon: just as he went through the portal to the apparoid home planet- the last mission in Starfox Assault.
Age: 28
Birthday: Probably no date we would be familiar with.

Appearance: Falco is an anthropomorphized bird, and despite his namesake, is not actually a falcon, but rather a pheasant. He's not tall by human standards, just about under 5 feet. It's hard to get a read on his physical build, since he's... well, a bird and thus covered in feathers that he can fluff out or smooth down at will, though generally appears to lean mroe towards the thin side.

Falco also sports a pair of advanced prosthetics (better seen in this picture here). Speculation is that it's customary for pilots to have this procedure done so that they can take more G-forces.

Abilities: (Because not much is seen of Falco's hand-to-hand combat, I am going to mesh it with some Mario Smash Brothers stuff)

Weapons

Blaster: A gun that runs on some sort of futuristic charging mechanism. It has unlimited ammo as it charges plasma shots. The longer you let it charge, the more powerful the shot.

Landmaster Tank: A futuristic tank, that shoots plasma shots and can also fly for short distances. While Falco's skill with these isn't the best, he knows how to maneuver one well enough.

Sky Claw- Falco's modified Arwing (A space fighter-jet thingy): A sleek and highly maneuverable Arwing, it has great speeding up and breaking capabilities, but like Falco is out of the Arwing, it lacks significant firepower.

Smash Bros skills

Sheildy-thingamajig Reflector: A shiny device Falco keeps strapped to his belt. When activated it can reflect ranged attacks such as guns, beams, fire and the like. It also has a weak stun and throwback effect to those it hits when first activated. It is useless against physical attacks however.

"Fire Bird": In short it basically appears that Falco is on fire and jet-propelling himself in a direction of his choice. For the sake of disproving rules of spontaneous combustion, we'll just say those prosthetics of his are packing some sort of short-range jet propulsion thingy.

"Falco Phantasm": A high-speed dash that leaves behind an after-image

General skills

Beak: While he's very humanized and probably eats the same junk humans do and not just nuts, fruit, and seeds, he has a beak. And if a large parrot is capable of biting off a human finger, the beak of a child-sized bird-man is probably not something you want to put your hand near if he's angry.

Prosthetics: Metal things hurt when kicked with. Fun facts.

Speed: Falco's speed is his greatest asset in b4 "that's what she said". He's lightweight, and great in the air. He can dodge, jump, and run at great speeds. He's highly maneuverable and once he starts to go on the offense it can be tough to get an attack in edgewise.

Personality: The most accurate way to sum up Falco's personality is to compare him to either Danny from the movie Grease, or Fonzie from Happy Days. He's something of a pompous, showy, 'lone wolf', who liked to roll with the troubled sort only to eventually grow and end up playing hero with the good guys. Heck, he's even got the Brooklyn accent (how he got that in space is anyone's guess). Falco is that cool, smooth, bad boy who likes to keep his up his image... which means he will put extra effort into showing off. Sometimes this results in him cutting efficiency for flashiness (in smash bros, he kicks in reflector rather than holding it in place, and thus doesn't sustain it as a shield), however, there are also times when he pulls off ridiculously flashy stunts because, as incredulous as it may seem, he does actually have the skills to back up his ego.

Falco boasts the title of the Ace Pilot of team Starfox. He's got the best skill in his Arwing out of the rest of the team, and he likes to make it known. He also does not like to see it slighted. He loathes receiving help, especially when he feels it is unneeded, often telling off teammates if they make a hit on one of his targets. Though, if in desperate need he will make the call for help, begrudgingly "thanking" his savior with an eyeroll and an "I guess I owe ya". And for the sake of his pride he always does pay back the favor, calling them 'even' and promptly forgetting he ever needed his fabulous feathered ass saved.

Falco also loves action, and doesn't always fair well in groups during peaceful times, growing bored and wandering off to go back to his rebellious roots when they Starfox team was mostly idle. As soon as things took a turn for the rough, Falco came in for a 'just-in-the-nick-of-time save (he's rather good at those, who'd have thunk). He's a troublemaker at heart, but would still rather be causing trouble for the right team rather than just being a scourge to everyone. And as much as he plays up the big 'bad boy/loner' attitude, he cares for his friends a lot and will gladly help them in a pinch (he'd just gloat excessively afterward).

Strengths: Falco has amazing speed and agility, making him tough to catch and hard to get an opening once he starts to attack. He's also seems to have some control over his fall speed. He cannot actually fly, but in a cutscene in Smash Bros Brawl, he stalls his descent for a few moments before making a sharp, abrupt (and flashy) landing.

He's also very small, which only adds to the difficulty to get a good grab on him. This also allows him to be a more effective pilot, along with the prosthetic legs. He can take fare more G-forces than the average human-sized pilot.

It can also be assumed he knows enough about mechanics to fix-up his arwing/prothetics/other various futuristic tech-junk laying around.

Weaknesses: His speed and agility come at a hefty cost, as it means Falco is extremely light. It doesn't take much to send him flying at all, and even in his Arwing, while he boasts the greatest skill, he's also got very low health. So if he's outclassed in speed, he won't take much to go down. Also while he can hit rapidly, he doesn't manage to do much damage unless he takes the risk of a charged attack, which takes valuable time.

Also, Falco's showing off causes him to cut corners on what's 'most effective' vs. what's 'more flashy'.

Falco's skills also take something of a nose-dive the further you take him from the air. His skill in a tank is very poor, and he outright refuses to go on underwater missions.

Short-ass furry is going to need a stool for the tall cabinets because you can't climb with feather-hands.

First Person Sample:

[It had not taken much for Falco to realize the room he woke up in wasn't actually his, and after searching it over to find no cameras or booby traps or any sort of threat, he decided to make more of an effort to poke around. His communicator wasn't working, so there had to be SOMETHING jamming it...]

Hello? Can anyone here me on this thing. Hello?! Starfox team?! Where the heck are you guys! Slippy I swear if you beamed me to the wrong place you're in for a special kind of headache next time I see you! [An exasperated sigh] primitive piece of junk. HELLO?! Can anyone hear me or am I just goin' to have fun talkin' to myself for a while?

[There's a huff and a clatter as the device is tossed off to the side after being written off as useless]

Now there's gotta be somethin' useful in this place...

Third Person Sample:

After a quick survey around the unfamiliar room, the discovery of the archaic communicator, and a few less-than-pleasant explanation as to where he was, Falco had finally wandered out of the safety of the room to explore. He kept his blaster charged and ready as he carefully rounded corners, no threats though. Everything seemed... kind of dull actually.

Eventually the militaristic patrolling routine was dropped and he wandered around the house to see what short of junk the giants who apparently lived here did. There was the giant kitchen, giant stairs... and a giant pool. Inside. Just how big was this place?

He walked into the room with the pool, well maintained enough that it got some use, but clean enough that it wasn't frequently travelled. He knelt down close to the edge and tentatively dipped his hand into the water. It was regular water. Smelled chemically, but that wasn't too unusual for indoor water facilities. Just as he was about to get up, he felt something give him an abrupt shove causing him to lose balance and topple into the pool. It took some difficult flailing between heavy wet feathers and the added weight of his artillery, before he managed to pull himself up over the edge of the pool- where he came face-to-face with the prankster.

A pair of small squirrels.

Correction. A pair of small squirrels who were going to pay dearly.

He shook himself as dry as he could and fluffed his feathers before taking off after the small animals shouting at them as he gave chase down the halls...

Bonus: Clearly I do not play enough tsun douchebags. I needed one with feathers too.
